Heisler Park Field Trip--The Sea & Sage chapter of the National Audubon Society will host a field trip to Heisler Park in Laguna Beach on Tuesday.

The trip will begin at 8 a.m.

On a rocky cliff overlooking the ocean, the park is a great lookout point for pelagic birds, as well as shorebirds, grebes, gulls and pelicans. The park’s shrubbery also attracts a variety of land birds.

The park is on Cliff Drive off North Coast Highway, one block north of Laguna’s Main Beach.

Participants are asked to bring binoculars, bird book and a scope if they have one. They are also asked to wear comfortable shoes that won’t be ruined by sand because, after birding at Heisler Park, the group will drive up to Reef Point and walk down to the beach.

For more information, contact the Sea & Sage chapter office at (714) 261-7963.

The fee for the trip is $11 or free for California Wildlife Campaign members.
