SANTA ANA : City Vouchers Good for Renting Tools
Residents who lack the tools they need for small home-improvement projects or repairs may now borrow hammers, wrenches and whatever else they need under a recently implemented city program.
The Neighborhood Improvement Department’s program provides eligible residents with vouchers worth $25 toward the rental of tools at several rental yards. Andria Gagliano, spokesperson for the department, said that eligible residents need first to fill out an application form. Qualifications are based on income and family size.
The vouchers may be used at Shipley’s Rental Center at 2530 W. 17th St., Knippers Rental Center at 2720 Orange Ave. and McKinney Equipment Rental at 1212 W. Central Ave. They may also be used to rent small trash dumpsters from Great Western Reclamation. The city limits vouchers to $50 per person per week, and $200 per person per year.
