Igor Zhelevsovski, the reigning world sprint champion from Belarus, remained undefeated this season after winning his fifth consecutive 1,000-meter World Cup speed skating race at Innsbruck, Austria.
Zhelevsovski finished well a head of the rest of the field in 1 minute 14.74 seconds. American Dan Jansen was second in 1:16.02.
In the 500 meters, Jansen won his fourth race this season in 37.33 seconds. Sergei Klevchenya of Russia finished second in 37.55.
In the 5,000, Johann Olav Koss of Norway won his first World Cup gold medal of the season, finishing in 6:52.30.
