The Chicago Blackhawks are showing no signs of letting up on Norris Division opponents.

Michel Goulet scored three goals and Ed Belfour got his fourth consecutive victory in a week over Norris Division teams as the Blackhawks completed a home-and-home sweep against the Toronto Maple Leafs with a 5-3 victory Sunday night at Chicago.

The Norris Division-leading Blackhawks scored consecutive victories over Minnesota last week, then beat Toronto by 5-3 on Saturday.

Goulet, with 16 career hat tricks, opened the scoring at 10:53 of the opening period.

Toronto goaltender Grant Fuhr, beaten by Goulet’s shot, went down a few seconds later when struck in the left shoulder by Chris Chelios’ 55-foot slap shot.

Fuhr stayed in the game, and Goulet beat him with a 10-footer at 13:36 after Steve Larmer picked off an errant pass.

Goulet made the score 4-1 at 16:01 of the period when he beat Wamsley from the left circle for his 13th goal.

Detroit 7, Philadelphia 4--Dino Ciccarelli’s second goal broke a 4-4 tie during the third period at Philadelphia.

Steve Yzerman skated past Philadelphia defenseman Ric Nattress at the blue line and broke in on a two-on-one against the Flyers’ Terry Carkner. Yzerman passed to Ciccarelli, who tapped it in with 9:57 remaining in the period.

Two minutes later, Sheldon Kennedy’s pass hit the stick of Philadelphia defenseman Ryan McGill and bounced in to make the score 6-4. Gerard Gallant finished the scoring with 1:08 to play.

Edmonton 3, Buffalo 2--Zdeno Ciger scored 25 seconds into overtime to give the Oilers the victory over the road-weary Sabres.

Ciger, traded to Edmonton from New Jersey last week, moved through the slot and took a perfect pass from Shayne Corson to beat goalie Tom Draper. It was Ciger’s fifth goal, his first as an Oiler.

Kelly Buchberger scored for the Oilers midway through the third period to force overtime.

N.Y. Islanders 7, Ottawa 2--The Islanders scored on three of their first four shots at Ottawa.

Pierre Turgeon scored twice for the Islanders, giving him five goals in two games. Turgeon, who had three goals during a 5-3 victory at New Jersey on Saturday night, has 29 goals and 41 assists, fifth among NHL scoring leaders.

Brian Mullen, Pat Flatley, Brad Dalgarno, Claude Loiselle and Mick Vukota also scored for the Islanders, who pulled to within four points of the fourth-place Rangers in the Patrick Division.

Washington 5, Tampa Bay 3--Sylvain Cote’s goal with 2:49 to play broke a 3-3 tie at Tampa.

Tampa Bay lost for the 10th time in 11 games.
