BIS Laboratories Licenses Cancer Detection System

BIS Laboratories in Reseda has signed a licensing agreement to provide Dianon Systems Inc. with the rights to BIS’ technology for detecting cancer cells in bone-marrow and blood specimens.

Dianon, based in Stratford, Conn., plans to use the technology for help in evaluating breast-cancer patients. Dianon provides laboratory services for doctors. Financial terms of the licensing pact were not disclosed.
