TV Ratings Up for NFC, Down for AFC
CBS got an overnight rating of 32.9 and a 56% share of the audience for Sunday’s NFC championship game between Dallas and San Francisco, up 15% from the Detroit-Washington title game last year.
On NBC, the Buffalo-Miami AFC championship drew a Nielsen overnight rating of 24.9 with a 50 share, down 7% from Denver-Buffalo last year.
Overnight ratings are compiled from the nation’s 28 largest markets. Each rating represents 921,000 households, or 1% of the nation’s TV households. The share is the percentage of TVs actually in use.
