SYLMAR : Man Killed in Crash on Foothill Freeway

A Saugus man was killed in a two-car collision on the Foothill Freeway in Sylmar, authorities said Tuesday.
Michael Smith, 25, was driving erratically and above the speed limit when his car smashed into the center divider close to the Hubbard Street exit at 11:30 p.m. Sunday, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.
Smith’s car rebounded into traffic, where it was struck by another vehicle, the spokesman said. Smith died at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills with minor injuries.
