SYLMAR : Hazardous Waste Roundup Planned
The Los Angeles Bureau of Sanitation will sponsor a roundup of hazardous household waste Feb. 13 at Mission College, 13356 Eldridge Ave., Sylmar.
Household chemicals, including cleaners, automobile products, pesticides, paint products and outdated medicines, will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Products should be in their original containers and placed in a cardboard box, bureau officials said. Waste from businesses will also be accepted.
Officials also said it is illegal to put household chemicals with the regular garbage or throw them down the drain.
The bureau will also accept household chemicals from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 14 at the Federal Building, 11000 Wilshire Blvd., Westwood.
