The newly formed United States Fastpitch Assn. (USFA) has filed a complaint with the U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC) challenging the Amateur Softball Assn. (ASA) for the right to be the National Governing Body of fastpitch softball.

The USFA’s complaint charges that the ASA does not adequately represent fastpitch organizations because it is oriented toward slowpitch. Women’s fastpitch softball will make its Olympic debut in 1996.
