Television turns its eye to awards shows and education this weekend.

Tonight at 7, TBS presents the 50th Annual Golden Globe Awards, which salute the film and television industries. Heading the list of feature films with five nominations each are “A Few Good Men,” starring Tom Cruise (a best actor nominee) and Jack Nicholson (supporting actor), and Disney’s animated “Aladdin.”

Also, Jasmine Guy and Malcom-Jamal Warner co-host “The 25th Annual NAACP Image Awards,” tonight at 11:30 on Channels 4, 36 and 39.

ABC’s Peter Jennings and Bill Blakemore examine how communities are improving education in schools, homes and the workplace on “Common Miracles: The New American Revolution in Learning,” tonight at 8 on Channels 7, 3 and 10.

And President Clinton’s first days in the White House will be a popular topic on the public affairs shows.
