YOUNG & ANGRY

We, the undersigned, are victims of “Lifestyles of the Young & Privileged,” Lauren Greenfield’s photo essay (Dec. 13). We were all duped by Greenfield, who misrepresented herself to us.

She told us that she was preparing “a photographic essay on growing up in L. A.” We participated because we believed it was a sincere and worthwhile concept. We did not intend to be part of a deceptive, inaccurate exploitation piece that portrayed us as a bunch of uncaring rich kids with little if any brains or integrity.

Greenfield lied to us to get her photographs and our participation in the project. We all hope that you will dismiss Greenfield from the world of journalism as quickly as we have dismissed her from our world.
