Los Angeles County supervisors have approved spending $120,000 for three San Fernando Valley-based public service agencies, including an AIDS education program for teen-agers.

The $120,000 will come from federal Community Development Block Grant funds, which were allocated to Supervisor Ed Edelman’s 3rd Supervisorial District, which includes much of the Valley.

The Los Angeles Family Housing Corp. of North Hollywood will get $32,000 to operate its Los Angeles Family Housing Self-Sufficiency Program, which helps homeless families move from emergency shelter to permanent housing. The Valley Community Clinic, also of North Hollywood, will get $20,000 to operate the Teen AIDS Education and Prevention Program and provide health counseling for low- and moderate-income teen-agers.

The supervisors allocated another $12,000 in block grant money to the Pacoima Community Youth Culture Center Inc. for education on drug-abuse prevention, self-defense classes and summer programs for area youths.
