John Bobo, who worked on Ray Perkins’ staff for seven years, was named to succeed Perkins as head football coach at Arkansas State.
Perkins resigned Monday after slightly more than a year on the job to become offensive coordinator for the New England Patriots’ new coach, Bill Parcells.
Bobo, 34, who coached the offensive line at Arkansas State last season and has never been a head coach, was given an 18-month contract at $70,000 per year. Perkins had a three-year contract.
