SEA VIEW LEAGUE BOYS’ SOCCER : Saddleback Hands Santa Margarita Its First Loss

Saddleback posted its second consecutive upset by defeating top-ranked and previously unbeaten Santa Margarita, 2-1, in a Sea View League boys’ soccer game Thursday at Saddleback High School.
The seventh-ranked Roadrunners on Monday upset second-ranked Corona del Mar, 2-1.
Saddleback’s Juan Arreola scored the game-winning goal in the second half off an assist from Jose Rodriguez. The Roadrunners (13-4-2, 7-2-2 in league) outshot Santa Margarita, 19-10.
Rodriguez, who scored Saddleback’s winning goal against Corona del Mar, scored off an Arreola assist in the first half to tie the score, 1-1, at halftime.
Chris Dedic scored in the first half for Santa Margarita (19-1-3, 8-1-3). Eagle goalie Matt Reis had eight saves.
In other league games:
Corona del Mar 0, Newport Harbor 0--Mike Freeman had four saves for Newport Harbor (6-7-5, 2-3-5). Brian Smith had three saves and Tim Timmons had six for host Corona del Mar (19-1-6, 7-1-4).
Woodbridge 4, Tustin 1--Sean Saunders scored twice for Woodbridge (10-6-4, 6-4-2). Tustin fell to 7-8-3, 4-5-3.
