WESTMINSTER : Police Assn. to Play All-Stars in Benefit
The Westminster Police Officers’ Assn. will play a charity basketball game Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. against a team of professional sports all-stars to raise money for the Leukemia Society. The game will be held at Westminster High School, 14325 Golden West St.
The all-star team will include Darryl Strawberry and Eric Davis of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Joe Kelly of the New York Jets, J.C. Pearson of the Kansas City Chiefs, Mike Merriweather of the Minnesota Vikings and Tim McGee and David Fulcher of the Cincinnati Bengals.
Admission is $4, and tickets are available at the Police Department or at the door. At halftime, the all-stars will sign autographs. Raffle tickets will be sold throughout the game, and the players’ shirts will be raffled off at the end.
