New Bear Coach Wannstedt Hoping for Another Offensive Turner-Around
The Turner family will be uniquely represented in the NFL by two offensive coordinators next season when Norv Turner begins his third year with the Dallas Cowboys and brother Ron starts his first with the Chicago Bears.
Ron is moving from San Jose State to join Norv’s former Dallas associate, Dave Wannstedt, new coach of the Bears.
Norv, who for many years served under John Robinson, moved to the Cowboys in February of 1991 after a 1985-90 stint as a Ram assistant, which followed nine seasons as a USC assistant.
The two youngest in a U.S. Marine’s family of five children, Norv and Ron were born in North Carolina and California, respectively, after their sisters and a brother arrived in Missouri and Michigan.
Football has been the adult life of both coordinators.
