Ten people were injured, two critically, when a suspected drunk driver plowed through a Pacoima intersection Thursday and collided with two cars, Los Angeles police said.

The driver, whose name was not released, ran a stop sign as he drove north on El Dorado Avenue about 7 p.m., striking a Pontiac traveling east on Terra Bella Street and then colliding with a Hyundai traveling west on the same street, Sgt. John Amott said.

Two people suffered critical injuries, four were seriously injured and four others had minor injuries, three of whom were children, said Phil Weireter, a city Fire Department spokesman. The injured were taken to three Valley hospitals. Amott said police planned to arrest the driver who caused the crash on suspicion of felony drunk driving.
