LA HABRA : Camera, Action at Middle Schools
Students at two middle schools here soon will get a chance to appear in their own television programs.
With a $9,687 donation from Century Cable of Southern California, Washington and Imperial middle schools will be wired for cable and closed-circuit television.
“With closed-circuit, the students can broadcast the morning announcements live, like Tom Brokaw and Vikkie Vargas,” Washington Principal Gary Mantey said. “And the cable TV will allow our teachers to use the educational programming to enhance instruction in science, social studies and language arts.”
In addition, the schools will get 12 new television sets--six each. With those, every classroom in each school will have one set.
