NEENACH : Project OKd to Make Curves Safer

Share

The California Transportation Commission approved a $2.4-million project Wednesday to realign two right-angle curves on California 138 in the Antelope Valley.

The stretch of highway known as Lancaster Road runs through the remote Antelope Valley community of Neenach, Caltrans spokesman Russell Snyder said. The project will realign 300-foot radius curves to 2,000-foot radiuses along a 1 1/2-mile length of highway to make the roadway safer for motorists, residents and children of the recently opened Neenach Elementary School. Construction is expected to begin this summer and be completed in early 1994, Snyder said.
