Alice Hangs Tough

Michael Jackson’s “Dangerous” album is still enjoying some fallout from his recent TV appearances, moving up three notches to No. 6 on The Times’ Southern California pop chart. But “The Bodyguard” soundtrack is still the untouchable pop-chart champ, leading the pack and showing no real signs of tailing off. Alice in Chains, No. 2 on the hard-rock chart, continues to be a strong force in that market and would be No. 1 if it weren’t for the perennial leader, Pearl Jam’s “Ten.” In the singles area, rap continues to dominate, with Dr. Dre at the top.
