Bam Slam: For the second year in a row, the heavy-metal band Metallica swept the Bay Area Music Awards held in San Francisco on Saturday. The San Francisco-based group won four Bammies, the awards sponsored by BAM magazine that honor local acts: outstanding group, outstanding guitarist, outstanding drummer and outstanding bassist. Neil Young won the outstanding album award for “Harvest Moon” and Oakland-based En Vogue won outstanding female vocal award and for outstanding urban-contemporary album.
