In other nonleague boys’ volleyball:

Foothill 3, Laguna Hills 1--Rich Lambourne had 23 kills and Matt Gerard had 21 for Foothill (3-0). Jeff Sturdivan had 18 kills for Laguna Hills (3-1).

In the Cypress softball tournament:

Cypress 4, Foothill 3--Junior Amanda Adams scored the go-ahead run for Cypress (3-1) in fifth inning of a quarterfinal.

In nonleague softball:

Calvary Chapel 7, Anaheim 5--With two out in the top of the seventh inning, Tara Veltz singled to drive in two runs, giving Calvary Chapel (1-4) the victory. Bolsa Grande 12, Downey Warren 7--Lien Mai hit a grand slam and Vivian Alvarado tripled with the bases loaded for visiting Bolsa Grande (2-0).

Troy 11, Century 0 (6, mercy rule)--Heidi Schmidt pitched a one-hitter and struck out 10 for host Troy (5-3).

Villa Park 3, Rosary 1--Freshman Tammy Kincaid pitched a one-hitter, striking out 11 and walking none, in her third varsity game for Villa Park (5-1).

Mater Dei 2, Marina 1 (8)--Bernadette Vargas singled home Candace Kollen from third with the winning run in the eighth inning for host Mater Dei (5-0).

In Sunset League boys’ tennis:

Edison 11, Westminster 7--Jeff Baker and Charles Kang each won three singles matches for Edison (2-3, 1-1). Westminster fell to 3-1 and 1-1).

In Sea View League boys’ track and field:

Woodbridge 78, Saddleback 58--Gary Young won the 100 (10.9) and 200 (22.7) meters for Woodbridge and Tony Muniz won the high jump (6-0) and triple jump (41.3) in a key Sea View League opener. The Warriors (1-0) also got a victory in the 3,200 from freshman Ross Venook (10:12.2).

In boys’ Sunset League track and field:

Marina 82, Huntington Beach 54--Tony Parrish captured the long jump (21-1 1/2), triple jump (43-3) and the 100 meters (11.7) for Marina (1-1, 1-0). Ben Flamm took the 1,600 (4:39.0) and 3,200 meters (9:57.1) for Huntington Beach.

In Sunset League girls’ track and field:

Ocean View 94, Westminster 32--Christy Bradshaw won the 800 and 3,200 runs and Donna Garcia set a school record in winning the 200 in 26.6 seconds for Ocean View (2-0, 1-0).

In nonleague golf:

Servite 201, Villa Park 212--Scott McGraw and Matt Kliner shared medalist honors with 38s for Servite (3-1).

Trabuco Hills 407, Huntington Beach 412--Jeff Farley shot a 77 for Huntington Beach. Zachary Allen led Trabuco Hills with a 79.
