FULLERTON — Pitcher Jennifer Mortenson received a release from Texas A&M; and will begin playing immediately for the Cal State Fullerton softball team, Titan Coach Judi Garman announced Friday.
Mortenson, a Torrance Bishop Montgomery High graduate who was 24-11 with a 0.78 earned-run average for the Aggies last season, transferred to Fullerton to be closer to home because of an illness in the family.
Although most Division I transfer players must sit out one season, Texas A&M; allowed Mortenson to use a one-time waiver rule allowing her to play this season.
