NIT ROUNDUP : Miami (Ohio) Upsets Ohio State
Miami of Ohio upset Ohio State, 56-53, Wednesday night at Columbus, Ohio, in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament.
It was the first loss for Ohio State (15-13) to another Ohio school since 1987, and the Buckeyes’ first loss to a Mid-American Conference school in a decade.
Scott Belyeu led Miami (21-8) with 18 points. Jamie Mahaffey finished with 16.

Ryan Minor scored 22 points as Oklahoma (20-11) outscored Michigan State, 15-6, in the final four minutes to win, 88-86, at Norman, Okla. Michigan State wound up 15-13. . . . David Holmes scored a career-high 32 points to lead Rice (18-9) to a 77-73 victory over Wisconsin (14-14) at Madison, Wis., giving the Owls their first postseason win since 1954. . . . Voshon Lenard scored 15 points at Minneapolis to help Minnesota (18-10) to a 74-66 victory over Florida (16-12). . . . West Virginia (17-11) blew a 23-point lead in the second half, but used Pervires Greene’s 22 points and Tracy Shelton’s 20 to hold on for a 95-84 victory over Georgia (15-14) at Morgantown, W.Va. Charles Claxton led Georgia with 21 points and 16 rebounds.
