Capistrano Valley volleyball Coach Ken Goldstone thought Cougar middle blocker Eric Seiffert established himself as a top college recruit with 18 kills and four blocks in a four-game victory over Esperanza on Tuesday.
Seiffert, a 6-6 senior, is being recruited by USC, Hawaii, Brigham Young, UC Santa Barbara, Pacific and UC Irvine. With Seiffert’s strong play against Esperanza, second-ranked in the county, Goldstone figures the middle blocker will have several more offers.
Why? Seiffert was going against Esperanza’s Paul Nihipali, who has already signed with UCLA.
“Nihipali is going to UCLA and Eric is waiting for some offers,” Goldstone said. “After seeing that match, I think Eric’s capable of playing anywhere.”
