Okenwa Lifts Master’s to Basketball Victory

Six-foot-8 center Emeka Okenwa recorded game highs of 31 points and 16 rebounds to pace The Master’s College to a 79-71 victory over Indiana Wesleyan in a quarterfinal game of the National Christian Collegiate Athletic Assn. Division I basketball tournament Thursday in Marion, Ind.
Rogerio Soares added 14 points for the Mustangs.
Three players scored in double figures for Indiana Wesleyan, led by Eric Kolisz with 18 points. Matt Shade and Scott Jones each added 16.
Indiana Wesleyan, which trailed by 10 points at intermission, shot 50% from the floor for the game but was outrebounded, 39-26, and attempted 13 fewer foul shots.
Master’s was 25 for 31 from the line (81%), and Indiana Wesleyan was 12 for 18.
