The Cal State Northridge women’s tennis team rebounded from a lopsided loss earlier in the week to defeat New Mexico, 5-4, in the Cal State Fullerton tournament Friday.

The Matadors (9-2) won four of six singles matches after being hammered by Yale, 8-1, in nonconference play Tuesday at Northridge.

Cindy Nielson defeated Alicia Meraz in No. 1 singles, 7-5, 6-3, and teammates Jennifer Cotone, Gabriela Knizek and Amy Marks were victorious in Nos. 3, 4 and 6 singles.
