Cal State Northridge 5-4, Ohio State 0-2--Beth Calcante hit a three-run home run in the first game of the nonconference doubleheader and drove in the go-ahead run in the fifth inning of the second game to power the Matadors (19-3) at Northridge.

Calcante hit her sixth homer of the season in the third inning to give starter Amy Windmiller (8-2) a 3-0 lead. Windmiller pitched a four-hit shutout and Calcante went three for three with four runs batted in.

The Buckeyes (4-7) took a 2-1 lead in the third inning of the nightcap, but Denise Swank’s RBI double tied the score in the fourth and Calcante had an RBI single in the fifth for a 3-2 lead. Jennifer Richardson (4-0) got the victory.
