University Application Process Computerized
The university application process has been streamlined at El Monte High School, where the guidance office has started a computer program called “Xap.”
The process eliminates many pages of paperwork required for college application, counselor Danny Martinez said.
Students may use the counseling office computer to complete their application information and then mail a computer diskette to the university of their choice.
Students can finish the form without supervision in 15 to 20 minutes, Martinez said. Required letters of recommendation can be sent by fax to the individual institution.
