SIMI VALLEY : Contract Awarded for Tree Trimming
The Simi Valley City Council voted Monday to award a $118,818 contract to a Monrovia company to do tree-trimming work on public parkways in residential and business areas.
Golden Bear Arborists submitted the low bid among three firms seeking a contract to maintain 1,939 parkway trees and to remove other trees so that curb and sidewalk repairs can be made. City staff members had estimated that the work would cost $123,000.
The tree service is expected to be done from early May through mid-July, said John Watring, the city’s assistant director of public works.
