THOUSAND OAKS : Cyclist Unconscious After Collision
A Simi Valley woman was in serious condition Monday after she collided with a van and was thrown from her bicycle, Ventura County sheriff’s deputies said.
Gail Aguilar, 41, was taken to Los Robles Regional Medical Center. She had not regained consciousness as of late Monday, authorities said.
The accident occurred on westbound Olsen Road in Thousand Oaks about 9:25 a.m., according to a Sheriff’s Department statement.
Traffic investigators said Aguilar made a sudden turn into the van, lost control of the bicycle and was thrown to the ground, striking her head.
Carlos Pavia, 42, of Hawthorne was driving the van. He was not cited, said Sheriff’s Lt. Bill Montijo, although the investigation is continuing.
