College Basketball
From Staff and Wire Reports
Clemson basketball Coach Cliff Ellis offered to reduce his two-year contract to one year, and the school accepted. He says it will help him pay attention to what’s important.
His base salary will remain at $102,000, and there were no other alterations to the contract.
“A lot of people are going to think I’m crazy, but I thought it was important,” Ellis said. “I want this thing to be evaluated on a year-to-year basis. I think it will keep my feet to the fire.”
