LETTERS IN VIEW : Fate of Our Children and Their Education Is Uncertain

Re “The World of Fear”: It’s appalling the way the media continue to beat up African-Americans.
There is a picture of a little white girl with an innocent look saying, “I want to go to a school that never has fights”--the implication being her neighborhood is safe and it’s them who have all the problems. Next to her you show an African-American girl saying this is how to kill me.
Normally I don’t write about all the little indignities that I see every day in the newspaper and on the television screen, but I could not let this outrage pass.
