NHL ROUNDUP : Yzerman Gets Five Points to Lead Red Wings

Steve Yzerman had two short-handed goals and three assists, and goalie Vince Riendeau stopped 25 shots as the Detroit Red Wings defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning, 9-1, Thursday night at Tampa to retain a share of the Norris Division lead.
Dino Ciccarelli and Bob Probert added two goals each as Detroit won its third in a row.
Boston 6, Quebec 2--The Bruins took a three-point lead in the tight Adams Division race, beating the Nordiques at Boston for their fifth consecutive victory.
Chicago 3, N.Y. Islanders 2--Jeremy Roenick and Christian Ruuttu scored 24 seconds apart in the second period as the Blackhawks beat the Islanders at Uniondale, N.Y.
Philadelphia 4, Washington 3--Andrei Lomakin scored three minutes into the third period, breaking a 1-1 tie and propelling the Flyers at Philadelphia.
Keith Acton set up the key goal by sliding a pass across the blue line to Lomakin, who skated to the top of the left faceoff circle and sent a slap shot into the top right corner of the net for his eighth goal this season.
Winnipeg 5, Toronto 3--Thomas Steen scored a power-play goal early in the third period to break a 3-3 tie and rookie Teemu Selanne notched his 75th goal of the season as the Jets won at Winnipeg.
