So much for Lawrence Taylor and retirement.

The 10-time Pro Bowl linebacker on Monday reached a tentative agreement on a two-year contract that will have him back in a New York Giant uniform for a 13th season, his business manager said.

The two sides have been close to reaching an agreement for more than a week. Taylor, who became a free agent after last season, will reportedly receive almost $2.5 million a year, about the same terms the club paid in February to keep quarterback Phil Simms.

Last year, during an informal interview in a parking lot at Giants Stadium, Taylor said that he would be retiring at the end of the season.

Within three weeks, Taylor’s career seemingly came to an end when he ruptured an Achilles’ tendon in his right leg in a game against the Green Bay Packers.
