VIEWPOINT / LETTERS : At Last, Something Strawberry Catches: Heat From the Fans
To avoid this problem in the future, the Dodgers could reconfigure the ballpark to put the first row of seats well out of interference range. Also, they could sell the first few row of seats in right field to Darryl Strawberry, who could then keep them vacant. What I would really like to see, however, is that if a fan catches the ball instead of a player (a likely prospect when the Dodgers are in the field), the fan should be allowed to assume the player’s position for the remainder of the game.
