Kennedy McKinney kept his unbeaten record intact and defended his International Boxing Federation junior-featherweight championship with a unanimous 12-round decision over Richard Duran in Sacramento.
McKinney, of Memphis, Tenn., and Duran, of Sacramento, both weighed in at 122 pounds.
There were no knockdowns, but McKinney piled up points with his left jab. Duran landed the harder punches, but did not score consistently.
McKinney, who won his title last December, is 23-0-1. It was Duran’s first defeat to put his mark at 26-1.
