England’s Eamonn Martin, running his first marathon, won the 13th London Marathon.
Police said a 47-year-old male runner collapsed near the six-mile mark and was pronounced dead on at a hospital.
Martin’s time was 2 hours 10 minutes 50 seconds. In the women’s race, defending champion Katrin Dorre of Germany won in 2:27:09.
