Bruno Defeats Williams in Final Round

Frank Bruno stopped Carl (The Truth) Williams 29 seconds into the 10th and final round Saturday night at Birmingham, England, to stay on course for a $27-million bout with Lennox Lewis for the World Boxing Council heavyweight title.
The fight was stopped after Williams was knocked down for an eight count.
Williams, who lost to Larry Holmes and Mike Tyson in title fights, is 26-7. Bruno is 36-3.
