Chavez Memorial to Be Held Friday

ORANGE — A memorial service honoring farm labor leader Cesar Chavez will be held at noon Friday at Chapman University Chapel at the corner of Grand Street and Maple Avenue.
Organizer Luis Ortiz-Franco, a mathematics instructor and adviser to the Macondo Club, the university’s Latino students’ group, said community leaders have been invited to share their experiences with Chavez and the farm labor movement.
Chavez died Thursday in Arizona at the age of 66.
