Guest Hosts for Lawrence: Vicki Lawrence, who this week declared herself “at war” with the producer of her syndicated talk show, will be replaced by guest hosts through the end of the season. Lawrence said she was suffering from colitis and heart palpitations brought on by her combative relationship with Derk Zimmerman, president of Group W Productions, the show’s producer. Her physician ordered her to rest and avoid stress, Lawrence said, noting that problems escalated when Zimmerman sent a consultant to the set. Although she was told it was an attempt to improve the show and communications with her, Lawrence said she felt spied on. Shows featuring Lawrence have already been taped for the May ratings “sweeps.” Lawrence, nominated for a Daytime Emmy this year, is under contract with Group W for next year.
