Deion Seems to Have the Story Backward

So, Deion Sanders has accused the Atlanta Braves of "the worst betrayal by a team in all sports history."

I seem to recall that ever since Mr. Sanders has been a member of the Braves, the Braves' management has been so accommodating to him that they have allowed him to leave their team every July so he could play pro football. This means that when the Braves play the second half of their season, they do not have Mr. Sanders' services for the pennant drive on a full-time basis. Who is doing the betraying here?
