Horace Norton (Bud) Anderson, 68, first city editor of the Orange County Edition of the Los Angeles Times. Anderson, a native of Ft. Worth, Tex., was educated at Baylor University, served in the Navy during World War II and worked on the Pampa Daily News in Pampa, Tex., before moving to Santa Ana in 1952. He was city editor of the Santa Ana Register (now the Orange County Register) for four years and briefly ran his own public relations agency before joining The Times in 1957. He worked in various capacities as an editor in Los Angeles and in The Times’ suburban sections and was in charge of the Costa Mesa city desk when Orange County became a daily edition in March, 1968. Anderson retired as a news editor in computer systems in 1987. On Wednesday in Santa Ana of cancer and a stroke.
