Shed Fire Destroys Antique Furniture
Flames gutted a storage shed containing antique furniture Monday, generating heat that shattered windows in an adjacent apartment building, the Los Angeles Fire Department said Tuesday.
The blaze in a 25-by-60-foot shed in the 11900 block of Hart Street was reported at 10:03 p.m. Monday, Fire Department spokesman Mike Little said.
About 40 firefighters had extinguished the fire by 10:30 p.m., Little said. Heat from the fire broke windows on the second floor of an apartment building just east of the blaze.
A firefighter was treated for a cut hand, Little said.
Cause of the fire, which caused $90,000 in damage to the shed’s contents and $10,000 to the structure, was under still under investigation, Little said.
