Maybe the Dodgers Can Win WBC Championship
Baseball’s proposal for more expansion and two-tiered playoffs reminds me of boxing. Instead of eight champions, we have about 15 divisions, four commissions and around 50 cheese champions, and sports fans are supposed to buy this shameful substitution for real talent, substance and drama.
The greed and stupidity of baseball owners, agents and players has so desecrated the great pastime that it, too, like boxing, has become a diluted sham. Perhaps it is a testimony to the desperation and emptiness of American sports fans that they would actually allow themselves to be duped by TV and PR overkill and accept low-grade horse dung.
