COMPTON : Moore Accuses Rival of Seizing Her Campaign Signs

Share

City Councilwoman Patricia Moore, who is running for mayor, demanded the arrest Thursday of her rival in the race, a fellow council member who she said has been tearing down her campaign signs.

Councilman Omar Bradley said he was not tearing down Moore’s signs and was only putting up his own signs.

Moore said at a news conference that shortly after midnight Wednesday she saw Bradley and an unidentified city employee driving through town, ripping down her signs. Moore said she called police and then she and a campaign worker followed Bradley in her car.

Moore said a police helicopter pursued the councilman as he drove at high speeds. Bradley pulled over into a nearby hotel parking lot only after he saw three squad cars waiting for him at an intersection, Moore said.

Bradley said he did not know who was tailing him and was trying to get away because he believed he was being stalked by a carjacker. He said the only signs police found in his truck were his own. Police refused to give details of the probe.
