Station Gets DJ Out of Its Hair After Stunt That Tangled Bay Bridge Traffic
Disc jockey “Mancow” Muller got a trimming down from his station Thursday pending investigation of a traffic-stopping Bay Bridge haircut that has commuters and authorities calling for his scalp.
KSOL-FM said in a statement that it suspended Muller and other employees involved in Wednesday’s hair-raising stunt, which took a cut at President Clinton’s May 18 runway trim at Los Angeles International Airport.
Morning rush-hour traffic was tied up for more than an hour while two KSOL vans came to a halt on the span. Another radio personality inside one van announced on the air that he was getting a haircut.
The California Highway Patrol is gathering evidence on the incident and plans to file charges with the San Francisco district attorney’s office, public affairs officer Jeff Kahn said.
San Francisco Examiner columnist Rob Morse suggested various punishments for Muller in a Page 1 column Thursday. They ranged from “a full-body hair removal with duct tape” to “hanging ‘Mancow’ by his udder from the Bay Bridge.”
