Los Angeles city planners will be on hand in Westchester at various times during the next two weeks to answer the public’s questions about the final environmental impact report on the first phase of the vast Playa Vista project.

Developer Maguire Thomas Partners is seeking city approval to build the first phase of the residential, office, hotel and retail development on 280 acres of open land between Marina del Rey and the Westchester Bluffs.

A city advisory agency will conduct a public hearing June 23 to consider approval for the initial phase of the development. The hearing will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Loyola Marymount University’s St. Roberts Auditorium, 7101 W. 80th St., Westchester.

In advance of the session, the city Planning Department has scheduled a public meeting to provide information on how to prepare testimony for the hearing. The meeting is set for June 17 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Airport Marina Hotel, 8601 Lincoln Blvd., Westchester.

City planners also will be available Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays through June 21 to answer questions about the final environmental documents and Maguire Thomas’ application for subdivision approval. From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Planning Department staffers will be at the city clerk’s branch office in the Westchester Municipal Building, 7166 West Manchester Ave., just east of Lincoln Boulevard.

Copies of the final environmental impact report are available at libraries in Westchester, Venice, Culver City, Loyola Village, Mar Vista, Marina del Rey and Pacific Palisades. The document also can be seen at Councilwoman Ruth Galanter’s Westchester office, Chamber of Commerce offices in Westchester and Venice, and at the Planning Department’s office in City Hall.
