About $100,000 worth of methamphetamines was seized and eight people were arrested on narcotics charges early Saturday in Lancaster, authorities said.

The drug bust followed a raid on a house on Mora Court, said Lt. Ron Shreves of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

When deputies in the gang unit arrived at the house shortly after midnight with a search warrant, several people--including two on the roof--were apprehended when they attempted to flee, Shreves said.

Deputies confiscated two pounds of methamphetamines, commonly known as speed, he said.

Seven men and one woman ranging in age from 21 to 35 were arrested on suspicion of possessing narcotics for sale, he said. Their names were not released. Shreves said they were being held Saturday at the Antelope Valley station in lieu of $50,000 each.
