SAN CLEMENTE : Public to Review City’s General Plan

Share

The city’s newly updated General Plan, the subject of about two years’ worth of work and debate, is available for one last review by the public before a final vote of the City Council on Aug. 4.

In May, the council approved a comprehensive update to the General Plan, the first major change since 1982. The document will guide planning and growth in San Clemente into the next century.

As part of its action in updating the plan, the council set a 30-day public verification period, allowing residents to make sure any last-minute changes to the plan are represented correctly in the final version.

City planners stress that the public review period is not an opportunity for residents to suggest changes of the plan’s actual policies but a chance to make sure all wording of the changes is correct.

The review period will end July 13.

Copies of the plan are available for review at City Hall, the San Clemente Library and the city Planning Department, 910 Calle Negocio.
